These are the tactics developed in the last working group meeting. What adjustments do you have?

    1.     Career influencer tactic: Focus on career influencers (e.g. counselors, career coaches) in high school and middle schools with meetings, career opportunities, transferable skills. Provide diverse agrifood career exposure through panelists, connecting with professionals, and having students visit employers.
    2.     Ag in Classroom tactic: Continue to prioritize career exposure and connections with teachers outside of agriculture to build awareness. Need help to identify careers available in a community or region, non-traditional and local farms.
    3.     Technical Education tactic: Identify specific career ag pathways that can lead to internships, apprenticeships, and certifications for non-college bound students. (e.g. HVAC and plumbing)
    4.     Associates Degree tactic: Explore the opportunities for two-year degrees or ag technical degree with KCTCS and colleges.
    5.     Career Fair tactic: Discuss regional agrifood career fairs and printed materials for middle school and early high school exposure to breadth of careers across agriculture.
    6.     Urban/suburban Outreach tactic: Fill gap between today’s ag ed student and employers. Explore ways to provide practical experience and certification as proof of skill, and get farmers to work with non-traditional students.
